Queen Elizabeth Park Notes- Established in 1954, Queen elizabeth occupies over 1975 km2 shared by 3 districts namely Kasese, Bushenyi and Rukungiri extending from Lake George to L. Edward in the south west which are connected by the Kazinga channel. The park was named after Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II  of England and has ever since been the most visited park in Uganda. The park is is popular for its wide variety of wildlife(Big five, Over 500 bird species, tree climbing lions ) and is well edowed with deep craters, volcanic cones and crater lakes like Katwe lake which is popularly used for salt mining. Safari activities include game drives, boat rides, bird watching and the park is well serviced with budget and luxury safari lodges.

Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have breakfast and then our driver guide from 1st Class Uganda Holidays LTD will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park. From Kampala through Mbarara its 420 kms 5-6 hours drive and via Fort Portal – Kasese its 410kms. It can be also be accessed by air flying to Kasese and connecting by road to the park, or fly to Mweya Peninsula and Ishasha. You will relax the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Ride at Kazinga Channel

You will have an early game drive where you will see lions, leopards, spotted hyena, side stripped jackal, bush back, water buck, oribi, topi, sitatunga, buffalo, elephant, hippo, and mangoose. You will return to the lodge for lunch and then go for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. Its quiet enriching because you may see birds like the African Fish Eagle, Black Crake, African Jacana, Water Thick-knee, Spur-winged and African Wattled Plovers, Malachite and Pied kingfishers, Swamp flycatchers and Yellow backed Weavers, Great-white and Pink-backed Pelicans, Great and Long-tailed Cormorants, Common Squaco Heron, African open-billed Strok, White-faced Whistling and Knob-billed Ducks, you may also see crocodiles and hippos. Later return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala After breakfast the driver will pick you from the lodge after checking out and drive you will back to Kampala. You may stop at the Igongo cultural centre for lunch and visiting the museum, make another stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for photography. Proceed to Kampala
